About The Styles Report

M.K. Styles is the creator of The Styles Report, a Jersey-rooted platform dedicated to the golden eras of hip-hop, R&B, and soul.

Originally from Asbury Park, NJ, M.K. grew up on the sounds that shaped both the Shore and the streets. What began as personal nostalgia evolved into a space for thoughtful commentary, live performance archives, and deep appreciation of the records that defined the 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

Over time, The Styles Report has grown into a living digital archive connecting longtime fans with a new generation discovering the culture for the first time.

In the early 2000s, M.K. wrote for the Jersey collective Black Wizard Entertainment, sharpening an ear for timeless songwriting and authentic storytelling. That foundation now informs his work as a curator and commentator, spotlighting classic moments, celebrating real musicianship, and amplifying community-shot footage through the Styles Reporters network.

At its core, the mission is simple. Preserve the feeling. Honor the craft. Strive to teach the youth about our golden era of music and carry it forward across generations.
